I found this out-of-copyright SF story on Project Gutenberg a day or two ago.  I am not sure what to make of it.

Anchorite by Johnathan Blake Mackenzie (pseudonym of Randall Garrett)

I am quite sure it isn't out of copyright.  Randall hasn't been dead nearly long enough, and to the best of my knowledge neither he nor his estate ever placed it in the Public Domain.  But I've seen a lot of stuff at Gutenberg lately that I think is questionable in terms of copyright (whether or not you agree with the current laws and I don't).  (And yes, I've grabbed copies of all of it, for personal use, as I am not a lawyer).

It's a good story and he was a good friend, greatly missed.
