A Floating throne with surrounding force-screen bubble. I'm reminded of spacing guild representative in old Dune movie and force-bubble grav-chairs of Cetagandan Haut-ladies in Lois McMaster Bujold's books. (Takes basically crew-served weaponry to breach.)

Someone's got a big ego or at least has to play part for the role...

panel 3 in that strip has another "fishy mutant", This one is in a tank and being levitated like our snake lawyer from the last story arc.

Being horrendously mutated by vast amounts of Spice so you can be a Guild Navigator, is one thing. I don't see the appeal otherwise.

I do recall Scott saying the various bird-man mutants have the advantage of flight in low grav environments, but I'd probably stick with a bubb myself.

>Ambassador Mordecai Montanha-Flores. (page 2071 panel 4)

Well, I guess we can say that Bok was lucky not to be stopped and frisked.

Well, as of today's comic it's clear that the "Ambassador" desperately needs to be shown the nearest airlock.

And that they were almost certainly in on it, at least to some degree.
Madness takes its toll - please have exact change.

If the Federation was "in on it", it was most likely they knew of the action, and merely let it happen ("Never let a good crisis go to waste.").  Rather than stop the deaths of over a million people.

Wish I could still see the transcript for each comic.

See how casually, how matter-of-fact this Ambassador rejected nearly every point of a libertarian society?  He wanted (demanded):
  • a base of operations inside their territory (and not subject to their laws)
  • a staff of 500 people (499 "infiltration agents" and one director, probably)
  • access to every person's private financial (and therefore, everything) information
  • repealing personal protection laws (leaving the population defenseless)

What a slippery slope to Communism.

Slippery slope?  What slope?  That's jumping right off the cliff.

Right? Talk about your non-starter.
