Post by: DrakBibliophile on August 16, 2019, 10:27:02 am
Was it confirmed that DeCastries and company were guilty of Hayami's murder?

I think Hayami kinda got dropped from the goals list. I still think she faked her death and bailed.

Several subplots weren't fully resolved at the end of this arc. I'm sure they'll at least somewhat bleed over to the next.

Even Scott may not know if Hayami is coming back.

Why did Diana suddenly switch teams? And here I thought something was going to eventually happen after Wook finally let her hair down. page=1953

Who are the guests DeCastries talks about in page=1987

When will we see Trudeau again? page=1988

"...plus the materiel we'd laid in for when … our guests could arrive."

page=1985

"...and a stash of back bacon, potatoes and cheese."

So if we postulate that all that stuff was for the "guests", and that it would make a good https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotdish, and there are "mass quantities" available to be consumed, I would have to guess that there is another Francophone Conehead world settled by the descendants of Minnesota, and RPLD was planning to pull their invasion shock troops from there.

My impression was the guests are of a Lovecraftian nature, since Hayami's "dollhouse", if it worked, would span dimensions.  Carmen's sudden appearances and disappearances suggest that it did work.

I initially expected that, but it could be done with holograms or remote displacers

I would probably want to carry one of these things around  page=383

Well, well, well.... Someone is lying low with a new face and a new identity. Could it be anyone we already know...  ;D

I was a little surprised by this as well. Diana was pretty heavily into girls up to this point showing no interest whatsoever in men and actively pursuing females. then suddenly out of nowhere she's in bed with a moustacheo monty. I was like weird... especially since Monty could presumeably dust off an old murphy body out of the closet and use that.

Diana has always been bi-sexual. But she has very high standards for either gender and hadn't run across a male she was attracted to (who also signaled an attraction to her) since leaving Zytemonde. She did have a sort of crush on Bok but he seemed uninterested and she didn't want to embarrass herself.

And Monty does have a gynoid body he uses with her on occasion. As Diana said, he's VERY versatile.

DeCastries' "guests" were 50,000 armed occupation soldiers he'd planned to bring in through the Château.

And yes, we'll see Trudeau again, in the new story-arc. Stay tuned!
