In today's observation from Las Vegas, there's a picture of a "cigarette machine" next to a no smoking sign. Scare quotes added because I don't think it's actually a cigarette machine- rather, an Art-O-Mat, a cigarette machine repurposed to deliver quick hits of delicious, delicious art. Which is actually a pretty cool thing.

Yes! That's an Art-O-Mat created by the brilliant Clark Whittington. They were originally intended to be a one-off thing for a show back in the 90s, but were so popular that there are now nearly a hundred of these repurposed ciggie vending machines filled with art instead of cancer sticks, scattered around the globe (I first came upon an Art-o-Mat in a public library in Bucks County PA, of all places.). Each packet is a unique piece created by a different artist.

Good culture hack to turn old anti-life device into pro-art device. Check out the web site - http://www.artomat.org.
