Just shocked you folks into silence, did I? Well don't worry, it doesn't get anymore hard-core than this. Next week, they put clothes on.
I spent some time wondering whether to put up a "NSFW" warning page for the Thursday and Friday strips, like I did on EFT when it wandered into R-rated territory, but I figure if I've seen nothing worse on late-night basic cable, it should be okay. Maybe if the strip were in color I'd feel differently.
I would like to know what readers think about this issue.

I was a bit surprised, but really, it's not that bad. The main thing is that it seems to me like this "action" is slowing down the plot. He's asking too many questions, and I don't trust him.

Well, I have to admit that upon seeing the first part of this action, my brain kind of halted and went "Gyahhh, she hawwwt..." But it is nice to see Nicole having a good time. And the ears... love that. Erogenous.
I'm not entirely sure where to draw the line of putting "NSFW" on a strip. When I saw today's in my RSS catcher, and it said that, I thought for sure we were going to see a nip shot. But, I suppose it never hurts to play it safe.

Yeah, this guy had an agenda from the beginning. How else did he know about her ears? Good writing, Scott. I certainly dropped my guard!

Isn't he the guy Mr. Presidents (sorry, Mr. Graves) hired to help spy on Sean? I'd say he has an agenda! He probably heard about the ears in his briefing.
Actually, it appears everybody know about L5'er pointed elf (not Vulcan?
) ears.
Which makes me wonder about the connection. Originally I assumed that the 'elfer' nickname simply came from 'L5'. '
E.
L.
F
ive', get it? But now it appears to come from those ears. But did the original inspiration for the ears way back when come from 'EL Five'?

Eventually I will explain, in the story, the whole business of the relationship between L-5, "Elf Hive," the Founding Families, and Nicole's pointed ears. Might be a while, so stick around.

NSFW = No Science Fiction? Wait.
I was waiting for more science fiction,or failing that more Beagle Boys (or Scrooge McDuck?) to pop up, to break my silence.

Sounds a bit like an old danish hippie commune, where all the members took the additional surname "kløvedal" (that second vowel is a ø in case it doesn't transliterate), which is the Danish translation for Rivendell.

Well, there is a Bank of Rivendell based in L-5 City. It all ties in.

The actual nudity is not as much of a problem. This prude is more offended by the casual attitude toward sex. (So that the rejuv honeymoon sequence in EFT was much more enjoyable.) Not that taking it seriously avoids predators entirely. I know a girl that was courted and married by a guy who then proceeded to take out a life insurance policy (on her) and arrange "accidents". He didn't even bother with the sex. She was so confused when he disappeared after the wedding.
The nudity would have been a problem in my younger days. So the NSFW is probably a nice courtesy.

Can you help me understand that? Are you offended that this comic shows a person who has that kind of attitude? Or are you offended that people exist with that kind of attitude? Either way, how would this be a problem?
I mean, seriously, just a few pages ago a man was beheaded! Compared to that, how is showing something that happens a million times a day/night a problem?
Would be different if this was a story for kids, but it's clearly not...

It doesn't bother me, anyhow, and it was important to the story, and the exposition of the character of "Rando," or whatever his name really is. The violence actually bothered me more. Rando apparently sees no difference between rape and consensual sex, and just reading that makes me feel dirty.
