For a couple of decades, I've wondered whether the blue eyes (negative connotation) were the same as the eyes that could see for miles and miles (positive connotation, unless he works for a government, since there's magic in them).  The same guy wrote both songs.  (He also wrote "Won't Get Fooled Again" with the classic statement "Meet the new boss, Same as the old boss").  I recall a thread on one of the "Draft Neil" (2000 or 2004) mailing lists about that last one and Neil put something into one of his essays about it.
