Lookin' good, brah! Hope you've been making your 'web-fu' skillz as sharp as your duds . . .
Whatsoever, for any cause, seeketh to take or give
Power above or beyond the Laws, suffer it not to live.
Holy State, or Holy King, or Holy People's Will.
Have no truck with the senseless thing, order the guns and kill.

The penultimate stanza of Rudyard Kipling's MacDonough's Song

Will we be hearing the bad guys say "We'd got away with it except for those meddling kids"?

Yes. Parrhesia mentioned them in the thread "Keep your enemies closer"

Interesting note on Q-links. Am I correct in assuming more or less as follows:

  • Q-links are strictly point-to-point; you cannot tap the connection without compromising at least one end.
  • You have to either use some telecom company operating a switch connecting you to another of their customers or exchange a q-link with your intended recipient. In former case you have to trust your telecom, but latter requires a previous face-to-face meeting. Possibly even physical jiggery-pokery to exchange q-dots or something.

It's sort of like Bitcoin, where everyone has a unique address, but unlike Bitcoin in that the "blockchain" doesn't contain any information beyond who contacted whom, and that data gets purged as part of the process. All open-source so no cheating. It guess it's more like the Signal app.
